2008 Golf Tournament Recap

The 17th Annual Healing the Children Golf Tournament was held on the 1st day of August at The Links in Post Falls, Idaho. We have dedicated this tournament to Dr. Welzie "Wes" Allen, one of the founders of Healing the Children and the long-time medical director of the Inland Northwest Chapter. It is our largest fundraiser of the year and provides us with an opportunity to share our mission with others.

This year, we raised net proceeds of nearly $20,000.00. This is due in part to the generous matching donation from Amgen Foundation. We had 128 golfers and were blessed with the presence of one of our "children" Aqueena from St. Kitts. She was brought into Spokane for open heart surgery, which she underwent less than 10 days before the tournament. As you can see from the pictures below, she has recovered remarkably well and she is one of the many success stories of the Inland Northwest Chapter.
